Over the past few days, unseasonal rains have been battering parts of Maharashtra, leading to crop damage in certain areas. Today, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for various districts in the state, warning of further rainfall.
As per the IMD forecast, heavy rains are anticipated in central Maharashtra, Marathwada, and certain parts of Konkan. Isolated thunderstorms with hail are also predicted in Raigad, Ratnagiri, and Sindhudurg districts in Konkan. Citizens are advised to take necessary precautions in light of these weather conditions.
In North Maharashtra, heavy rains are expected in Nandurbar, Dhule, Jalgaon, Nashik, and Ahmednagar districts, with isolated thunderstorms likely in Chhabildaspur, Beed, Dhule, Jalna, Hingoli, Parbhani, Nanded, and Latur districts in Marathwada.
Western Maharashtra is also likely to experience heavy rainfall, particularly in Pune, Satara, Sangli, Solapur, and Kolhapur districts. Moreover, the IMD has issued a yellow alert for Ahmednagar, Nashik, Pune, Satara, Beed, Parbhani, Jalna, and Chhabildaspur districts for May 12 and 13, with thunderstorms and hail expected during the afternoon.
