The Chinchbhavan Railway Overbridge in Nagpur has become a hotspot for accidents, primarily due to the speeding vehicles traversing through it. As a result, officials have labeled Chinchbhavan Chowk as a high-risk area for accidents. The increase in accidents is attributed to the heavy traffic of vehicles approaching the crossings on the highway at Chinchbhavan Chowk, combined with the additional traffic coming from nearby residential neighborhoods.
The Chinchbhavan Railway Overbridge serves as a vital route for travel from Nagpur to Wardha, Yavatmal, Chandrapur, and Uttar Pradesh. Its accessibility from the city has made it a preferred choice, resulting in a steady flow of traffic. Although attempts have been made to redirect traffic towards Khapri after crossing the railway overbridge, congestion remains a persistent issue as vehicles tend to build up while passing through the overbridge.
Additionally, vehicles entering the city are required to pass through Chinchbhavan Chowk, further contributing to the congestion. The increasing number of vehicles on a daily basis worsens the traffic situation, resulting in ongoing congestion issues throughout the day.
Furthermore, vehicles coming from Chinchbhavan village add to the congestion at this junction. The persistent traffic jams at Chinchbhavan Chowk cause mental strain not only for Nagpur residents but also for commuters from nearby cities.
Despite the construction of two roads on either side of the overbridge, the dominance of vehicles traveling in opposite directions further heightens the risk of accidents. The deteriorating state of the old pathways on the overbridge, along with the lack of paved roads, presents further dangers, heightening the risk of accidents along this route.
