Polls due for four seats
The elections to for four candidates for Maharashtra Legislative Council have been postponed. The elections were scheduled to be held on June 10 and the counting of votes on June 13.
The Election Commission had announced dates of polling and counting for th fur seats about a week earlier. Two seats representing registered graduates from Mumbai and Konkan and two representatives of teachers from Mumbai and Nasik ar falling vacant in July.
A request to hold the elections after the summer vacations was made, and was accepted by the Election Commission. Fresh dates of elections will be announced later.
The term of Vilas Potnis (UBT), Mumbai Graduates; Niranjan Davkhare (BJP) fro Konkan Graduates Constituency; Teachers representatives from Mumbai Kapil Patil and Kishor Darade from Nashik is ending on July 7.
