In a suspected case, as per the police reports on Thursday, around 90 individuals were hospitalized after consuming food at a temple in Nanded district. The incident took place on Wednesday evening in Naigaon, as confirmed by an official. The official mentioned, “A feast was arranged, and food was provided to devotees just outside a Shiva temple.”
“They were served ‘ambil’ (porridge) and ‘khir’ (a sweet dish made from milk),” he explained. “However, after consuming the ‘ambil’, the devotees experienced dizziness and began vomiting,” he added.
“Initially, some of them were immediately taken to a hospital. However, towards late evening there were more reports of food poisoning. By late night, a total of 90 people had been admitted to various hospitals for treatment,” he explained.
The official assured that all individuals are now in stable condition and out of danger. In response to the incident, a police team visited the location and initiated an inquiry, as stated.
