The state education department met with principals from city junior colleges on Thursday to prepare for the Std XI Centralized Admission Process (CAP). The actual admissions will begin after the state board’s Std X results declaration, which is expected in June.
Deputy Director of Education Ulhas Narad instructed colleges to have their paperwork ready to update details on the online admission portal, which will list available seats, mediums of instruction, and subjects offered.
Under current rules, admissions to state board affiliated junior colleges in Nagpur city must be conducted through CAP. Pramod Gharpure, one of the official coordinators for CAP, said “The process is designed for the students’ convenience and affordability. It allows students to apply to any college in the city with a single form. This government-controlled process is secure and free of loopholes.”
Despite the streamlined process, Nagpur sees at least 25% of junior college seats remain vacant each year due to an oversupply of seats and fewer students migrating from other boards.
