The construction of cement roads under the fourth phase is about to begin in the city, affecting traffic on nine routes. Work orders for these roads were issued before the code of conduct, and permission is now being sought to stop traffic to start construction.
In this phase, 34.5 km of road will be concretized at a cost of ₹300 crore. Of these, the nine selected routes total 4.38 km in length.
According to the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC), roads less than 12 meters wide will be completely closed, while half of the wider roads will remain open during cementing. The project aims to complete the work within six months, with alternative routes arranged during construction.
The fourth phase includes 33 road projects divided into 14 packages, with the ₹300 crore proposal approved by the state government in December. This phase focuses on the main routes, adding to the ₹700 crore worth of road works completed so far.
