A fire broke out near Mahatma Gandhi School in Kholi, Jaripatka, Nagpur in the early hours of Tuesday, May 21. The NMC’s Fire Brigade swiftly responded to the call received at 1:35 am. They successfully rescued nine individuals, including four women, four men, and a child, who were stranded on the third floor of the building.
The fire occurred at a warehouse within a residential property near Block No. 33, close to the school. Three fire tenders were dispatched at 1:40 am, managing to extinguish the flames.
Preliminary investigations suggest a short circuit may have triggered the fire, though further examination is needed to confirm.
The blaze resulted in a loss of approximately Rs 90,000, destroying electric meters, paper plates, plastic disposers, paper napkins, and pattal-drone, according to the warehouse owner. Jaripatka Police Station has registered a case, and investigations are ongoing.
