The Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) had to cancel the only practice session before its match against Rajasthan Royals (RR) due to security reasons.
According to a media report the concern arose over Virat Kohli’s security at the Gujarat College ground in Ahmedabad on Tuesday.
According to Anandbazar Patrika, the franchise did not even hold a press conference on the eve of the eliminator match, which was unusual. The practice session was cancelled after the police informed the IPL franchise Bengaluru and Rajasthan about the threat to Kohli. Four persons were arrested in this connection.
Kohli learned about the arrests after arriving in Ahmedabad. The police also strengthened the security arrangements outside RCB’s hotel. A green corridor was created for Rajasthan Royals team to reach the practice ground.
Strict security measures are expected to be taken for the match on Wednesday.
