The Vidarbha region is facing a strong heat wave, with temperatures soaring over 40 degrees Celsius and hitting record marks. The Navtapa has started showing its impact in the Vidarbha region. Nagpur, with a temperature of 45.6 degrees Celsius is experiencing its usual summer for the first time this year. The streets wore a deserted look during noon. Besides using scarves, caps, and goggles, carrying drinking water bottles became essential for everyone.
Brahmapuri in Chandrapur district probably has crossed the record for the region. The highest temperature recorded in the region was 47.1 at Brahmapuri.
With Nagpur Amravati and Wardha also reached 45 degrees. A little relief was experienced by Akola which remained the hottest in the region during the last over one week. Akola’s temperature was 42.2 degrees on Monday.
Only Buldana remained below 40 degrees and recorded a temperature of 39.4 degrees. The other districts in the Vidarbha region remained very hot and recorded temperatures above 40 degrees. The night temperature have also started going up and most of the district recorded the minimum temperatures between 28 and 30 degrees Celsius.
