The Nagpur Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) is working at various stages to prevent the danger of heat stroke. Cold wards have been created in 9 government and NMC hospitals in the city and currently 5 patients are admitted in the cold ward.
NMC Gardens are open for citizens even in the afternoon. An order has been issued by the NMC to give afternoon break to all the construction workers. Taking into account the increasing temperature in the city by the NMC as part of preventive measures for the safety of the homeless citizens, the social development department has searched for the homeless in various parts of the city and sheltered them in centers. Since April 2024, more than 111 homeless people have been sheltered. At present, a total of 354 people are living in all the six homeless shelter centers.
Nagpur Municipal Corporation is emphasizing on heat stroke prevention measures. Cold ward has been prepared at ESIS Hospital, Ayurvedic Hospital, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Hospital. also sufficient stock of medicine is available in all hospitals. Apart from this, green nets have been installed on signals in the city. 163 Gardens of the NMC are being continued during the afternoon hours while arrangements have been made for water fountains in over 350 places.
The traffic police department stopped the signal at noon. Total 11 ambulances of 108 and 7 municipal ambulances are ready 24 hours.
