In a notable meteorological development, the Southwest Monsoon made its initial appearance in Kerala on May 30, raising prospects for an early arrival in the Vidarbha region as well. According to astrometeorologist Dr. Mukund Moholkar, the onset of the monsoon in East Vidarbha and Nagpur is anticipated between June 11 and June 13.
Dr. Moholkar elaborated on the projected trajectory of the monsoon, stating that based on planetary positions and their velocities, Goa and Konkan are expected to experience the monsoon’s arrival by June 2, followed by Mumbai by June 5. In regions such as Akola, Washim, and the western parts of Vidarbha, the monsoon is forecasted to arrive around June 7. These forecasts underscore the significance of early monsoon patterns and their potential implications for the agricultural and socio-economic landscape of the region.
