Commissioner Ravinder Singal has taken a big step by ordering a look-out notice against Ritika Maloo, the main suspect in the Ram Jhula accident case. A police team led by Senior Inspector Sandeep Buwa searched her home in Deshpande Layout near Wardhaman Nagar, with Zonal DCP Gorakh Bhamre supervising, according to a local media report.
Rumors of Maloo attempting to flee have spurred authorities to intensify the search and seize her passport. Commissioner Singal warned of strict action against anyone aiding her escape. Multiple police teams have been deployed to track her down based on intelligence inputs.
Reports hinting at Maloo’s presence in Rajasthan remain unconfirmed, with no concrete evidence of her attempting to flee abroad. Although her passport wasn’t found at home, authorities have acquired pertinent information from the passport office. This will aid in issuing a look-out notice and alerting airports across the nation.
Maloo’s irresponsible driving on February 25 led to the tragic deaths of Mohd Hussain Mustafa and Mohd Atif, igniting widespread anger and demonstrations. Initially accused under bailable sections for causing death due to negligence, the case escalated to non-cognizable sections following the disclosure of her blood alcohol content.
With anticipatory bail rejected by the Sessions Court and no respite from the High Court, police endeavors are presently concentrated on tracing Maloo. Commissioner Singal affirmed that the inquiry is advancing under the oversight of senior officials, ensuring it remains technically and legally sound.
