Various exit polls on the Lok Sabha election have predicted that Bharatiya Janata Party-led Mahayuti will get 22 to 35 seats, while Uddhav Thackeray-led Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) 15 to 26 seats in Maharashtra, a keenly watched state.
Maharashtra saw a fierce battle between the Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) and the Shiv Sena (Shinde); and the NCP (Ajit Pawar) and the NCP (Sharad Pawar) for the 48 Lok Sabha seats represented by the state.
The BJP contested in 28 constituencies, while its allies Shiv Sena (Shinde) fought in 14, the Ajit Pawar-led NCP in five.
Maha Vikas Aghadi members Shiv Sena (UBT) contested in 21 constituencies, the Congress in 17, and the NCP (Sharad Pawar) in 10.
The Lok Sabha election was held across five phases in Maharashtra.
According to the ABP-C Voter’s survey, both the Maha Vikas Aghadi and Mahayuti are expected to win 22-26 seats.
According to the survey, the BJP is expected to win 17 seats, the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena six seats, and Ajit Pawar’s NCP one seat.
The Congress is expected to win eight seats, Thackeray’s camp nine seats, and Sharad Pawar’s NCP six seats.
That would give the BJP-led Mahayuti a total vote tally of 24 wins, and the MVA 23.
TV9: Big wins for BJP, but MVA likely to inch ahead
As per the TV9 Polstrat exit poll, the BJP will 18 seats in Maharashtra, and the Shiv Sena (Shinde) four, but the NCP (Ajit Pawar) is unlikely to win even one seat, adding up to a total 23 seats for the Mahayuti alliance.
That gives the MVA an edge, with projections for 25 Lok Sabha seats from Maharashtra. The exit poll has predicted that the Shiv Sena Thackeray camp will win 14 seats in the state, the NCP (Sharad Pawar) six seats, and the Congress five seats.
According to the Times Now exit-poll, the BJP-led NDA alliance will win 26 seats, while Congress and its allies will get 22 seats.
The News 18 exit poll predicts 32 to 35 seats for the NDA and 15 to 18 seats for the India bloc.
As per Today’s Chanakya exit poll, NDA will secure 33 seats and INDIA bloc 15.
Setback to Ajit Pawar in Baramati?
According to the TV9 exit poll, Ajit Pawar may suffer a setback in the Baramati constituency, with Sharad Pawar’s daughter Supriya Sule expected to emerge the winner. The constituency saw a contest between Ajit Pawar’s wife Sunetra and Supriya Sule.
CM Shinde’s son to win from Kalyan constituency
The TV9 exit poll also predicted a win for incumbent MP Shrikant Shinde, son of Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde.
Vishal Patil to win Sangli seat
According to exit-polls, independent candidate Vishal Patil will emerge as the winner from Sangli constituency which witnessed a three-cornered fight between him, sitting BJP MP Sanjaykaka Patil and Shiv Sena (UBT) candidate Chandrahar Patil.
Ex-Mayor predicted to win Pune seat
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate and former Mayor Murlidhar Mohol is predicted to win Pune Lok Sabha seat. He contested against Congress candidate Ravindra Dhangekar and Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi’s (VBA) Vasant More.
NCP (Ajit Pawar) to lose all four seats
The Nationalist Congress Party (Ajit Pawar) camp fielded candidates for four seats – Baramati, Shirur, Raigad and Dharashiv (earlier known as Osmanabad). However, according to exit polls, Ajit Pawar’s camp will lose all four seats.
