The valedictory PG Certificate in Public Policy and Management ceremony under the Chief Minister Fellowship Programme, Government of Maharashtra, was held in the InFED Block of IIM Nagpur. The Programme Director, PGCPPM, Dr. Prashant Gupta, welcomed the Chief Guest, other dignitaries and graduating Fellows.
The Chief Guest, Ms. Vijayalakshmi Bidari, IAS, Divisional Commissioner, Nagpur, congratulated the graduating Fellows. She said that the graduation of the first batch of IIM Nagpur’s CMF Programme is nostalgic. Transformations and fast advancements in IT infrastructure use must be understood, especially in e-governance initiatives.
Citizen engagement is mandatory for India’s inclusive progress. “As the first batch from the CMF Programme at IIM Nagpur, your role is important to continue and never stop the constant learning process. Your goal post must shift continuously to reorient for excellence,” she said.
Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning, Data Sciences, etc., have a say in today’s fast-changing scenario. They remain essential while they bring their share of challenges, too. So, prepare yourself. “We are delighted to see your success in completing the Programme at IIM Nagpur,” she said during the certificate distribution ceremony.
Dr.BhimarayaMetri, Director, IIM Nagpur, welcomed the Chief Guest and other dignitaries. He congratulated the Fellows on completing the certificate course and emphasized how it prepared them to face the fast transformations happening everywhere.
“As India is a number 1 nation in youth population today, so as a youthful nation, it enjoys its momentous moment too. In FDI, Maharashtra is first among all states. The state government’s initiative to promote academic government collaboration through the CMF Programme at IIM Nagpur indicates that the government immensely values education and training to prepare youths to face new challenges with determination.
While addressing the Fellows, he said, “You are unique and make history as the first batch of the CMF Programme at IIM Nagpur. In the IIM Nagpur’s history, you will be remembered as the first CMF Programme batch from the youngest IIM.”
“The coming decades in India’s history will witness a remarkable transformation. The knowledge you gained from IIM Nagpur must be implemented prudently in your respective chosen professions. The Government of Maharashtra supported you by considering you special. It is now your responsibility to prove your mettle as the IIM Nagpur alumni,” he said.
It is not the full stop of learning, especially when transformations happen in all sectors. It’s time to capture every opportunity to remain abreast of technological advancements. Keep reading and learning as “today’s readers turn into the leaders tomorrow.” He also said the next most important thing is how to develop a robust and intact network.
Dr. Prashant Gupta mentioned the unique features of the CMF Programme’s online and campus modules. The Programme prepares the Fellows to understand the different aspects of public policy and trains them for a new life journey. The Industry and academic doyens guide the Fellows to coexist rather than compete for their chosen new success path.
The OSD to Dy. CM of Maharashtra, Ms. Priya Khan, congratulated the graduating Fellows and said that the Government of Maharashtra encourages, and supports initiatives with the potential for sustainability.
Mr. Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Minister, Government of Maharashtra, had launched the CMF Programme on May 24, 2023. IIM Nagpur collaborated with the State Government for the Programme, whose first batch received certificates on May 31, 2024. The Programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Shivaji Dhawad from InFED at IIM Nagpur.
The Fellows shared feedback that the one-year CMF Programme left an impeccable impact on their lives due to the Government of Maharashtra’s support and IIM Nagpur’s exceptional teaching, training, and mentorship. It brought a colossal change in their lives, they expressed.
