The Navi Mumbai police disclosed that another attempted attack was planned on actor Salman Khan while he was traveling to his Panvel farmhouse, more than a month after shots were fired outside Khan’s Bandra residence. Authorities reported that four suspects linked to the planned attack were arrested last week.
Gangster Lawrence Bishnoi is suspected to have connections to both incidents in Mumbai and Navi Mumbai. Salman Khan has reportedly been on the gang’s radar since he shot a blackbuck during a movie shoot in Rajasthan in 1998, and has allegedly received threats since then. Police speculate that Bishnoi’s involvement may be an attempt to establish a presence in Mumbai and initiate extortion activities in the city.
As per police statements, nearly 16-17 individuals were reportedly part of the operation in Navi Mumbai. Authorities claim that these individuals had conducted surveillance in Panvel back in February of this year.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Vivek Pansare stated, “We have arrested four suspects in connection with the case. The accused had been planning to target the actor for a long time and had stayed in Panvel to conduct recce.”
An officer mentioned that they are interrogating the four arrested suspects and investigating any potential links to the Bandra attack. Meanwhile, the Mumbai Crime Branch has arrested six individuals in connection with the Bandra case.
