A rally for World Bicycle Day is being organised in the city on June 2, starting from St. Ursula School Civil Lines. The event aims to celebrate the significance of bicycles for Nagpur City and promote awareness of road safety. The rally organized by various cycling and running groups in Nagpur, such as Miles N Milers, Tiger City Cycling Club, and Orange City Runners, the rally will kick off at 6:30 am. The first 1000 participants will receive a T-shirt on a first-come, first-served basis. T-shirts will be distributed at the venue from 5:30 am to 6:30 am before the rally starts.
Various competitions, including best decorated cycle, best message, best dressed cyclist, and best dressed cycling group, will be held during the event. Dr. Amit Samarth, an international ultra cyclist, will serve as the race director. The rally will be flagged off by District Collector Dr Vipin Itankar and DIG CRPF Prashant Jambhulkar. With over 1500 cyclists already registered for the rally, the organizers are urging cyclists to join the event in large numbers.
