In a significant development, the Social Security Branch (SSB) of the Nagpur Crime Branch uncovered a sex racket posing as a spa in the Wathoda area on Sunday.
Acting on a tip-off, law enforcement officials arrested two pimps and rescued three girls allegedly held captive by the perpetrators.
The arrested individuals, identified as Sarika Chandrakant Shrirao (37) and Rohini Sanjay Shrawankar (32), are accused of luring vulnerable girls into the sex trade for financial gain.
The raid, led by SSB PI Kavita Isarkar, targeted the Exotic Spa in Jal Jalaram Nagar. Authorities seized four mobile phones, cash amounting to Rs 77,600, and other incriminating materials during the operation.
Charges have been filed against the accused under Sections 4, 5, and 7 of the Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act (PETA).
The successful operation was conducted under the supervision of Commissioner of Police (CP), Jt CP, Addl CP (Crime), and DCP (Crime), with a dedicated team of officers including Police Constable Sachin Badhiye, Naik Police Amaldar Sheshrao Raut, Aarti Chavhan, Police Amaldar Ashwin Mange, Sameer Sheikh, Kunar Masram, Nitin Wasane, and Poonam Shende.
