The Sitabuldi police raided 4 mobile shops in Rahul Market which were selling duplicate products in the name of Apple company. Police seized duplicate products worth about Rs 79 lakh. Police took this action on the complaint of a representative of a Thane company. The accused shopkeepers selling duplicate products include Vijay Sheetaldas Makhijani, Narayan Govardhandas Mohanani, Ramaram Kesaram Chaudhary and Jeparam Devaram Chaudhary.
Kundan Belose is the investigating officer of Griffin Intellectual Property Limited Company. Who has been given the rights to take action under the Copyright and Trademark Act by Apple. Kundan came to know that fake products are being sold in the name of Apple company in shops named Arihant Mobile Accessories, White House NX, Maya Enterprises and Ramdev Telecom located in Rahul Market of Sitabuldi. He complained to DCP Zone 2 Rahul Madne. The police team raided all the four shops simultaneously. During the investigation, goods worth about Rs 79 lakh were recovered. The police have registered a case against the four shopkeepers under the sections of the Copyright Act. However, this action of the police has created a stir in the entire mobile market. After which it is also known that other shopkeepers in the complex immediately emptied the fake goods from their shops.
