In a daring daylight robbery, two masked assailants on a motorcycle targeted a businessman’s parked car in Gandhi Nagar, looting Rs 1 lakh in cash. The victim, Nitin Sardar, a 59-year-old resident of Zingabai Takli and proprietor of an export business, had entrusted his clerk with depositing the cash at HDFC Bank, Shankar Nagar, Dharampeth Extension. However, due to unupdated KYC details, the bank refused to accept the deposit. Sardar himself then attempted the transaction, facing delays due to technical issues, and eventually left the bank premises around 3 pm.
Upon parking his Ford EcoSport SUV in front of ‘Nagpur Naturals’ near LAD Metro Station, Gandhi Nagar, Sardar inadvertently left the cash-filled envelope under the driver’s seat. Seizing the opportunity, two robbers, their faces concealed with scarves, swiftly approached the vehicle on a motorcycle. With one of them shattering the car window, they snatched the envelope containing the cash and fled the scene.
Upon discovering the theft, Sardar promptly alerted the Police Control Room, prompting a swift response from Ambazari Police led by Senior PI Vinayak Golhe. Investigators promptly reviewed CCTV footage, identifying the culprits and initiating a search operation.
In a statement to ‘The Hitavada,’ Senior PI Golhe confirmed ongoing efforts to apprehend the suspects, underscoring the seriousness with which the police are treating the incident and assuring the public of a thorough investigation.
