NTPC Mouda celebrated the successful conclusion of the GEM 2024 program with a closing ceremony on June 6th, 2024, as part of its CSR initiative. The GEM program offered a comprehensive one-month training to the shortlisted girl students encompassing extracurricular activities & academic and life skills sessions from May 12th to June 5th, 2024.
The event was graced by the presence of Shri Prem Parkash, RED (WR-I & SR), Shri Pradipta Kumar Mishra, ED (FM), Smt. Aysha Mishra, Shri Subhashish Guha, GM (O&M), Shri Prem Chand, GM (COE), Shri Pradeep Balwant Paranjape, GM (Project), Shri Harekrushna Jena, GM (Maintenance), media personnels, members of Samruddhi Mahila Samiti, representatives of Union and Association, families of participants and employees from NTPC Mouda.
Addressing the gathering, Shri Prem Parkash, RED (WR-I & SR) mentioned that GEM is a flagship initiative of NTPC which is organized every year across various NTPC projects. He appreciated GEM participants for their commendable dedication in acquiring diverse skills within a short span.
Shri Pradipta Kumar Mishra, ED (FM), reiterated NTPC’s unwavering commitment to the GEM program, emphasizing its pivotal role in sculpting a promising future for its participants.
Smt. Aysha Mishra also expressed gratitude and thanks to members of Samruddhi Mahila Samiti in extending support to GEM Students in the one-month training program. She also requested members to continue providing help in future.
The closing ceremony began with deep Prajwalan followed by NTPC Geet, cultural program by GEM participants, Interaction of GEM students with Chief Guests, felicitation of Chief Guests and distribution of certificates and mementos to GEM students.
Since its inception in June 2018, NTPC’s GEM program has empowered over 4,000 girls. In 2024, 40 students were selected from 13 neighboring villages of NTPC Mouda, based on their academic performances. Following their performance in the GEM training, NTPC Mouda will shortlist four to five students for further academic support, providing them with free education up to the 12th grade. This initiative marks another significant stride towards fostering educational empowerment and gender equality within the community.
