The passing of Ramoji Rao, the head of Ramoji Film City and ETV network, has left the film and media industry in shock. The 87-year-old, also known as Cherukuri Ramoji Rao, died while undergoing treatment in Hyderabad.
On Friday, June 7, his health took a turn for the worse and he was moved from his residence in Ramoji Film City to a private hospital in Nankramguda. With a successful career as a media baron and film producer, Rao was the founder of Ushakiran Movies and had won numerous National Awards and Filmfares. He was also the chairman of Dolphin Group of Hotels.
