Datta Meghe Institute of Higher Education and Research (DMIHER), Sawangi (Meghe), Wardha successfully organized a training workshop on “Focused Translative Faculty Training in Simulation” on June 8 and 9, 2024. The workshop was conducted through DMIHER’s Center for Experiential Learning and Simulation to develop simulation-based training skills among its faculty members.
Renowned simulation experts from across the country guided this workshop, including:
– Dr. Naveen Paliwal, Associate Professor, Dr. S. N. Medical College, Jodhpur.
– Dr. Pooja Bihani, Associate Professor, AIIMS Bhubaneswar.
– Dr. Abhishek Nagarajappa, Associate Professor, AIIMS Delhi.
– Dr. Soma Ganesh Raja, Associate Professor, Sri Ramachandra Medical College, Chennai.
As most apex institutions have initiated competency-based curricula in medical courses, the need for simulation-based training for UG and PG students has become essential. To address this need, DMIHER organized this faculty development workshop and trained 30 faculty members from the fields of Medicine, Dentistry, Ayurveda, and Nursing. The workshop included detailed discussions on teaching methodologies ranging from basic skills to advanced skills using high-fidelity simulators.
Such simulation-based training programs are highly beneficial for providing high-quality training to learners, ensuring quality patient care, and enhancing patient safety.
The workshop was significantly contributed to by Dr. Vivek Chakole, Dr. Anjali Borkar, Heads and Professors of the Department of Anesthesiology at JNMC Wardha and DMMC Wanadongri, Nagpur, and Dr. Shraddha Patel, Deputy Director of SEL & SC. The organization of this workshop was under the guidance of Dr. Lalit Waghmare, Honorable Vice-Chancellor, Mr. Sagarji Meghe, Honorable Chief Advisor, Dr. Rajiv Borle, Director General, and Dr. Tripti Srivastava, Executive Director Academic, DMIHER (DU).
