Rotary International District 3030 has selected nine students under its International Youth Exchange programme. An orientation programme was held for these students recently. The students were guided on various topics. They were explained about etiquettes to be observed while in the foreign land and were told about other expectations from them.
Mamta Jaiswal, Chairperson, Rotary Youth Exchange; Rajindersingh Khurana, Advisor; Tarun Patel, Co-Chair; Pooja Khatri, Co-Chair; Vishwas Shastrabhojanee, PDG; Dr Manmohan Daga, Dr Shabina Sheikh, Jyoti Kapoor and other briefed the students during the orientation programme. RYE programme is for higher secondary school students in age group of 15-18 years. The selected students travel to other countries to learn about the culture, language, education system and other aspects of that country’s lifestyle. Being a school based programme, the exchange duration is one full academic year term of 10-months.
RI objectives of RYE are to advance international understanding and world peace by enabling youth to study first hand some of the accomplishment and different of people in other countries. To broaden students outlook by learning to live with and meet people of different cultures, said a release by Tarun Patel.
