Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation has opened a ‘Book Corner’ at Chitar Oli Metro Station for the passengers. The Book Corner is second in Nagpur after the first at the Airport Metro Station.
Books based on life and works of historical heroes like Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Swami Vevekanand, Acharya Vinoba Bhave, Dr APJ Abdul Kalam will be available at the Book Corner. Santi Ganeshotsav Mandal has accepted to be the guardian of the Chitar Oli Station Book Corner.
Managing Director of Metro Rail Shrawan Hardikar is planning many such projects that include Multi-Modal Integration, Last Mile Connectivity etc. A Hangout Centre has been started at the Airport Metro Station, which is getting a good response. Vidarbha Sahitya Sangh is the guardian of the Centre.
The Book Corner will be open from 8 am to 7 pm and is free of charge. Membership is not mandatory for using the facility.
Hardikar has appealed to the senior citizens and senior citizens clubs to use the facility and motivate youth to use it. Various goods are also on display at some metro stations.
