The CBSE is planning to introduce a trial run of open-book exams for students in Classes IX and XI.
This initiative follows the approval by the board’s governing body, which initially greenlit the plan for multiple subjects spanning Classes IX to XII during a meeting in December.
As per a CBSE document detailing the pilot program, its objectives encompass gauging the time needed by students to finish the exam, its effectiveness for both formative and summative evaluations, and soliciting feedback from various stakeholders.
