NTPC Mouda marked the commencement of the Intra Regional Sports Meet (WR-1)on June 15, 2024, with an inaugural ceremony at Chhatrapati Shivaji Stadium. The event began with the release of the ‘Massal’ by the chief guest, Shri K.M.K Prusty, Head of Project, NTPC Mouda, followed by a flag-hoisting ceremony and NTPC Geet.
Shri Harekrushna Jena, GM (Maintenance) & President of the Sports Council, led the oath ceremony, affirming the spirit of sportsmanship among the participants. The unveiling of the trophy and mascot by the chief guest, along with an interactive session with the players marked the beginning of Sports tournament at NTPC Mouda. The March Past led by IRSM participants showcased the unity and enthusiasm of the teams.
While addressing the gathering, Shri K.M.K Prusty expressed NTPC Mouda’s honor in hosting the IRSM (WR-1) 2024 and extended gratitude to all participants. He mentioned the commitment of NTPC Mouda in hosting the IRSM, being one of the flagship projects of NTPC and emphasized the importance of sports in promoting a healthier future, aligning with ‘Mission Parishkar,’ which aims for a cleaner and greener township.
The IRSM (WR-1) 2024 is scheduled from June 15 to 17, featuring seven teams: Mouda United, Solapur Sunrisers, Ratnagiri Warriors, Kawas Knight Riders, Jhanor Defenders, Anta Titans, and WR-1 HQs – Mumbai Paltan. These teams represent various NTPC Western Region 1 projects and will compete in Badminton, Throwball, Volleyball, and Table Tennis.
The inaugural ceremony of IRSM (WR-1) 2024 witnessed the presence of Shri K.M.K Prusty, Head of Project, NTPC Mouda, Shri Shubhashish Guha, GM (O&M), Shri Prem Chand, GM (COE), Shri Pradeep Balwant Paranjape, GM (Project), Shri Harekrushna Jena, GM (Maintenance) & President of Sports Council along with members and representatives of the Sports Council, Union and Associations, various clubs and Samruddhi Mahila Samiti. The inaugural ceremony of IRSM (WR-1) 2024 concluded with a vote of thanks by the Sports Council and the release of balloons, symbolizing the official start of IRSM (WR-1) 2024.
