The Nagpur police have arrested three accused who smuggled MD worth seven lakhs on a two-wheeler. A team from the Social Security Department of the Police took this action. The accused have been identified as Rohan Suresh Dhakulkar (28), Shubham Suresh Dhakulkar (31), and Vedant Vikas Dhakulkar (24), residents of Pawanputra Nagar on Umred Marg.
The police received information that MD would be transported on a two-wheeler in the Pawanputra Nagar area under the jurisdiction of the Hudakeshwar Police Station. On Tuesday around 7 pm, the police set up a trap and intercepted the accused who were traveling triple-seat on a two-wheeler bearing registration number MH 31 FV 8427. During the search, 71.11 grams of MD powder was found in the vehicle compartment. The value of the powder was estimated to be 7.11 lakhs.
The police seized a two-wheeler and cash worth Rs 8.45 lakhs from the accused. Upon questioning, the accused admitted to buying and selling MD with the help of Tabrez Alam alias Tipu alias Afroz Alam. A case has been registered against all three at Hudkeshwar police station, and they have been handed over to the squad there. The search for Tabrez Alam is ongoing.
