Sunetra Pawar, wife of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar has been nominated to the Rajya Sabha. She was nominated against the vacancy created due to the resignation of Praful Patel. The vacant seat was in the category of ‘Nominated by members of Maharashtra Rajya Sabha’
Sunetra Pawar was the lone applicant for the nomination. She contested Lok Sabha election on Nationalist Congress Party (Ajit Pawar group) against NCP (Sharad Pawar group) candidate Supriya Sule and lost.
Election Officer Jitendra Bhole on Wednesday announced her election to the Rajya Sabha.
