In a major relief for students aspiring to pursue BBA and BCA courses, the state CET Cell has announced that it will conduct another CET for admissions to these courses.
The CET Cell conducted a common entrance test for BBA and BCA courses on May 29 without sufficient publicity. As a result, many students were unaware of the CET and could not take the exam. Consequently, the response to the CET was very poor.
After the Class XII results were announced, students approached colleges for admission to BBA and BCA courses. However, the colleges informed them that admission without a CET score was not possible. On the other hand, due to the very poor response to the CET, the colleges were concerned about filling their seats.
Colleges affiliated with various universities and student organizations approached Higher and Technical Education Minister Chandrakant Patil, requesting another CET for BBA and BCA courses. Responding to this demand, Minister Patil announced on June 14 that the CET Cell would conduct additional common entrance tests for these courses on June 20 and 21.
