The Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) detained two teachers from Latur district in connection with alleged irregularities in the NEET medical entrance exam.
The teachers, Sanjay Tukaram Jadhav and Jalil Umarkhan Pathan, who work at a government-run school in Latur, were arrested by the ATS’s Nanded unit. They are currently being investigated by ATS officials.
Earlier on Saturday, the Central Government removed National Testing Agency (NTA) Director General Subodh Singh and transferred the investigation into NEET-UG exam irregularities to the CBI.
Additionally, the Education Ministry established a seven-member panel, headed by former ISRO chief K. Radhakrishnan, to review the agency’s functioning and recommend exam reforms.
