As the monsoon season begins, construction of cement roads persists in various areas of Nagpur, causing concerns among residents of the Laxminagar locality. According to statements given to ‘Nagpur Today,’ residents are dissatisfied with how the administration is managing the ongoing construction.
Recent rains have caused waterlogging in low-lying areas of Nagpur. Water has entered homes in some places where cement roads were built. Residents of Laxminagar are facing similar problems. The raised height of these roads has made houses lower, causing significant inconvenience for residents. They hold the municipal administration responsible for this issue.
Despite residents’ repeated notifications to local councilors and municipal officials, no lasting solution has been implemented, leaving residents to grapple with these problems throughout the monsoon season. Frustrated and angered, residents have voiced their displeasure with the administration’s neglectful approach.
The Nagpur Municipal Corporation is in the process of building cement roads across different lanes and by-lanes of the city. However, due to inadequate leveling, rainwater is not draining into the drains but is pooling on the roads, causing unsanitary conditions and forming swamps. Residents are urging municipal authorities to take necessary steps to ensure effective drainage of rainwater.
Now, everyone is waiting to see how the Nagpur Municipal Corporation will respond to the concerns raised by local residents.
