Dr. Dipen Agrawal, President of Chamber of Associations of Maharashtra Industry & Trade (CAMIT) reacting to Maharashtra State budget presented by Ajit dada Pawar, Deputy Chief Minister & Finance Minister, Government of Maharashtra, said that FM has made many populus announcements towards Females, Farmers and Masses. However, by not acceding the pending genuine demand of trade to close LBT department in all municipal corporations and demand of reduction in peer tariff for industries the FM in the Budget has given nothing for Trade or Industry in particular added Dr. Agrawal.
Setting the tone for upcoming elections The Finance Minister Ajit Pawar, revealed the state’s goal of becoming a US$1 trillion economy.
Ajit Pawar had already presented the Rs 6,00,522 crore interim budget for 2024-25 in February. Of the total budget presented today, with revenue receipts to the tune of Rs 4,98,758 crore, the revenue expenditure was projected at Rs 5,08,492 crore, while the revenue deficit was Rs 16,112 crore and the fiscal deficit was Rs 99,288 crore.
– Maharashtra government has decided to establish Chief Minister Varkari Sampradaya Corporation
– Women aged 21 to 60 will be given Rs. 1500 per month
– Government brought various schemes for women
– Chief Minister Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana announced
– 10 thousand pink rickshaws will be given to women in the state
– Every family will be given three gas cylinders free per year
– 92 lakh farmers benefited from Namo ShetkariYojana
– 163 irrigation projects will be completed in the next two years
– Rs 15000 crore long term loan has been approved by NABARD to complete the irrigation project
– Rs 3200 crore programme will be implemented to deliver water to drought areas
– Reduction in VAT on petrol and diesel at Mumbai, Navi Mumbai & Thane region . Effective reduction of 65p per litre.
I feel FM’s attempts are to please only Farmers, Female & Youth voters but the populist announcements will be implemented or not is to be seen and more could have been done as the trade and industry from the region is disappointed.
We can safely consider giving 6 on the scale of 10 for this years’ Budget.
