The buffer zones of the Pench Tiger Reserve in Maharashtra will open for safaris during the monsoon season, despite the core areas being closed for three months, an official announced Sunday.
The core zones of Pench and Bor tiger reserves, along with Umred Paoni Karhandala Wildlife Sanctuary, will shut their safari operations starting July 1, as confirmed by Prabhu Nath Shukla, deputy director of Pench Tiger Reserve (Maharashtra).
Safari gates at various points including Sillari, Khursapar, and Karhandala will remain closed until September 30. However, safaris in the buffer areas will continue, depending on road conditions. Bookings for buffer zone entries will be available from multiple gates including Paoni, Sillari, and Surewani. Accommodation is also available at Sillari, Kolitmara, and Surewani.
