The Chief Minister-Majhi Ladki Bahin Scheme has been launched in the state to enhance the economic independence of women, improve their health and nutrition, and strengthen their role in the family. The implementation of this scheme has begun at the district level, and eligible women are encouraged to apply. District Collector Vipin Itankar oversees this initiative in the district. The scheme commenced on July 1, and applications will be accepted until July 15. During a meeting, the District Collector emphasized prioritizing this task. Application forms are available up to the Gram Panchayat level. Women aged 21 to 60 years can submit applications through Anganwadi sevaks. At the taluka level, applications should be submitted at the Nagar Parishad/Nagar Panchayat and Anganwadi Centers, while in Municipal areas, they should be submitted at ward offices. The District Collector has instructed Chief Officers and Block Development Officers to prioritize this work.
Present at the meeting were District Women and Child Development Deputy Commissioner Aparna Kolhe, District Women and Child Development Officer Bharti Mankar, along with local officials. Tehsildars, Principals, and Block Development Officers participated via video conferencing.
Beneficiary Eligibility
The beneficiary woman must be a resident of Maharashtra. Eligible categories include married, widowed, divorced, abandoned, and destitute women aged 21 to 60. Beneficiaries must possess a bank account, and the annual family income should not exceed Rs 2.50 lakh.
Disqualification Criteria
Families are ineligible for the scheme if their income exceeds Rs 2.50 lakh annually, includes an income tax payer, or has regular/permanent employees or pensioners of government bodies (excluding outsourced and voluntary workers). Additionally, if the beneficiary has received more than Rs 1,500 through other government financial schemes, the family includes a sitting or former Member of Parliament/MLA, Chairman/Vice Chairman/Director/Member of a Government Board/Corporation/Undertaking, jointly owns more than five acres of agricultural land, or owns four-wheel vehicles (excluding tractors), they are also ineligible.
