Dr Subhash Chaudhari, Vice Chancellor of Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University has been suspended again. The order of his suspension was signed by the Chancellor and Governor of Maharashtra Ramesh Bais on Thursday afternoon, the sources at the Chancellor’s office said.
Dr Chaudhari was earlier suspended by the Chancellor. The suspension order was challenged by Dr Chaudhari, who got relief from the High Court. The court rejected the suspension order because proper procedure was not followed.
The Chancellor’s office then conducted enquiry against Dr Chaudhari and again issued the order for his suspension. The University is likely to receive a copy of his suspension order by the evening.
Dr Chaudhari was charged with violating the university rules, initiating biased acting against Senate members, taking decisions on financial issues awarding contracts to a security agency without following proper procedure, extending contracts with MKCL (Maharashtra Knowledge Corporation LTD) etc.
