In a brazen daytime theft, unknown perpetrators stole Rs 9 lakh by breaking a car window at Suraj Apartments in Chaoni last Friday under the jurisdiction of the Sadar police station.
Nasar Naeem Sheikh, residing at Suraj Apartments in Chaoni, accompanied her mother from Tumsar to Nagpur on Friday. They visited an Axis Bank branch in the vicinity around 1 pm, where Nasar remained in the car while her mother entered the bank to withdraw money.
After Nasar’s mother withdrew Rs 9 lakh from the bank, she placed the money in a bag. They returned home and left the bag with the money in their car before entering the house. Approximately 10 minutes later, thieves smashed the car window and stole the entire Rs 9 lakh in broad daylight.
Upon returning to the car, Nasar and her mother discovered the rear window shattered and the money-filled bag missing. Nasar immediately informed her family and the Sadar police about the robbery. The police arrived at the spont and re- viewed the CCTV footage from the area. The footage showed four suspicious men on two motorcycles following the car from the bank. The police are now searching for these suspects.
