A construction labourer tragically died from an electric shock after coming into contact with a high-voltage power line while working on tile fitting in the Wanadongri area under the MIDC police station. The victim, identified as Nandlal Katariya (23) from Sikar district, Rajasthan, lost his life in the incident.
According to the police, Nandlal was working as a tile-fitter at the construction site of Mankar in Shrikrishna Nagar, Mahajanwadi, Wanadongri. The site’s under-construction house had an overhead high-tension line owned by MSEDCL passing above it. On Saturday at 7 am, Nandlal ascended to the third floor of the building where he accidentally came into contact with the high-tension line. Fellow labourers found him unconscious, and he was quickly taken to the hospital, where doctors later declared him deceased.
MIDC police have registered a case of accidental death and are conducting further investigation.
