Dr. Abhijeet Chaudhari, Municipal Commissioner inaugurated the updated ‘Chalo App’ on Monday. The app now allows city bus users to book buses online. Previously, the app only provided information about bus services on specific routes. Following the update, now live tracking of selected bus now is also possible.
Earlier, students needing to renew or obtain new passes had to queue at Aapli Bus operator counters, which was a time-consuming process. In response, civic officials opted to introduce an online ticketing facility. Additional Municipal Commissioner Anchal Goyal was present at the event. Given the widespread use of Android and iOS phones, it was deemed appropriate for NMC to leverage technology fully to ensure seamless utilization of the ‘Chalo App’.
To obtain a pass, students need to upload necessary documents such as a bonafide certificate, Aadhar card, passport-sized photo, and school/college ID card. Regular commuters can also easily avail monthly or quarterly passes now. The Transport Department has set up counters for bus pass issuance at three locations: Sitabuldi Depot, 3rd floor, Modi no 2 Lane, Manish Market building; Wadi Depot-CNG Pump, behind Octroi no 10 outpost; Hingna Depot, next to Wasudeo Nagar metro station. Ganesh Rathod, Transport Manager at NMC, encourages citizens to take full advantage of the new features available on the Chalo App.
