An earthquake of 4.3 magnitude struck Maharashtra’s Nanded, Parbhani, Hingoli, and Washim districts on Wednesday morning. Tremors were felt around 7.15 am. There was no report of any casualty. People immediately moved out of their homes.
According to local reports, tremors were felt in Parbhani city, Selu, Gangakhed in Parbhani district. All five tehsils of Hingoli district felt the tremors, videos of which are being posted on social media. In Jalna district residents of villages in Ambad, Ghansawangi, and Partur tehsils reported the occurrence of earthquakes. Some villages in Risod Tehsil of Washim district also felt the tremors.
The earthquake was officially recorded to have struck twice at 7.9 am and 7.14 am.
Animals in the quake-affected areas were confused and made efforts to escape from their sheds.
Tremors also felt in Pusad, Yavatmal, Akola
Tremors of the earthquake that struck five districts of Marathwada were also felt in Umarkhed, Pusad, Yavatmal and Akola in Vidarbha region. The epicentre of the quake is said to be at Hingoli.
The earthquake struck around 7.14 am on Wednesday.
