In a proactive move aimed at boosting voter turnout, the Election Commission of India (ECI) has proposed the establishment of dedicated polling centres within large residential complexes. This initiative is part of a broader effort to enhance convenience for voters during elections.
District Collector Dr. Vipin Itankar emphasized the implementation of separate polling centres in high-rise residential complexes to facilitate easier access for voters. The initiative follows directives from the Election Commission of India, which has also outlined a comprehensive revision program for the district.
The district administration is actively working to ensure that every eligible voter can participate in the electoral process. Special attention is being given to setting up polling stations in residential complexes, particularly those with more than 200 flats or areas with over 900 voters.
Residents interested in hosting a polling station within their building are encouraged to contact Collector and District Election Officer.
