Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) has planned to arrange for about 5,000 buses for the Ashadhi Wari. A special bus from any village will be made available if 40 or more seats are booked. So far 1,030 buses have already been booked.
The Ashadhi Ekadashi will be celebrated on July 17 at Pandharpur. Hundreds of thousands of devotees visit the place on the day, which is the beginning of the ‘Chaturmas’. Many devotees visit the place in their own or rented vehicles or walk long distances in processions.
MSRTC’s free travel for passengers above 75 years, 50 percent concession to women will be available in these buses.
The local administration is expecting about 12 lakh devotees to visit the place for the celebration. About 1200 police personnel have been deployed to avoid any untoward incident.
