The Agneepath Scheme, announced on June 14, 2022, has been launched to recruit youth in the age group of 17% to 21 years into the armed forces for four years. There has been a demand from the opposition to provide facili- ties to fire warriors like nor- mal soldiers. Under the Agneepath scheme, Agniveers are inducted into the Indian Army, Air Force and Navy for four years of service including the train- ing period. After four years, 25 percent of Agniveer have been permanently recruit- ed into the Indian Army.
