Chitnavis Centre and HelpLink Trust are jointly organizing the July edition of their regular series “Shastra-arth.” The session will focus on the topic “TRUTH: See it as clearly as an Amla fruit in your palm,” with Shri Vilas Kale sharing his insights from the Hastamalak Strotra.
Hastamalaka was one of the four renowned disciples of Adi Shankaracharya. Even as a child, his state of realization was as clear as an Amla fruit held in the palm, which earned him the name Hastamalaka from the Acharya. For the benefit of seekers, Bhagwan Shankaracharya compiled the conversation he had with the boy, before accepting him as his disciple, into a compilation named Hastamalaka Strotram. Twelve of the fourteen verses in this strotram are powerful pointers to self-knowledge, offering profound insights into the illusory nature of all our conflicts. They guide us to realize our true nature—Sat Chit Anand, the ever-present freedom from all wants within us.
The session will be moderated by Nakul Agrawal. Following the talk, there will be an open question-and-answer session.
The event is scheduled for Saturday, July 13, 2024, at 6 PM at Laburnum, Chitnavis Centre, Civil Lines, Nagpur. Entry is free and open to all. For more information, contact 09423033340.
