After the state-level inter-power plant theatre festival organized by MahaGenco, Nagpur is set to host another event, this time by MahaVitaran (Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company). The state-level inter-regional drama competition will take place on July 12 and 13 at Dr. Vasantrao Deshpande Hall.
In this two-day program, regional divisions of MahaVitaran from Pune, Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar, Konkan, and Nagpur will perform plays. The drama competition will be inaugurated by Lokesh Chandra (IAS), Chairman and Managing Director of MSEDCL, at 9 am. MSEDCL heads from all regions and senior officials will be present. The Pune region team will present “Ti Phulrani,” written by P.L. Deshpande, followed by the Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar region team presenting “Uttardayitva,” written by Dr. Ganesh Shinde.
The following day, the Konkan regional team will present “Double Game,” written by Suresh Jairam, while the Nagpur regional team will showcase “Nothing to Say” by Prakash Dani. The prize distribution ceremony will follow these performances. Entry to all plays is free. Sanjay Dhoke, Chief Industrial Relations Officer and head of the drama competition organizing committee, stated, “These plays have already triumphed in their regional rounds and are now vying for the top spot in the finale. As Nagpur is hosting the final round, theatre enthusiasts can look forward to enjoying the best amateur plays in the state.” The drama competition organizing committee includes Suhas Rangari, Pushpa Chavan, Dilip Dodke, Dyanesh Kulkarni, and Harish Gajbe.
