Residents of Sadiqabad Colony in Mankapur were startled on Wednesday evening when baby cobra was found in the house of Balaji Iyer. Around 6 PM, Iyer noticed a small snake and promptly reached out to Anand Shelke and Anoop Satpute from the Wildlife Welfare Society for help.
Upon receiving the call, Shelke and Satpute immediately arrived at the scene and discovered four snakelets. They successfully captured the snakes and left. Shortly afterward, they received another call reporting more snakelets emerging. They returned and captured an additional six cobra snakelets, bringing the total to ten.
Residents continue to spot more snakes in the area, indicating the number may grow. This happens during the breeding season for many snakes. While some snakes give birth to live young, cobras lay eggs. Cobra venom is a neurotoxin that affects the nervous system.
