The city is currently undergoing extensive road and pipeline laying projects, leading to a significant rise in traffic hazards, particularly affecting two-wheeler riders. Dumpers operated by private builders, transporting soil and debris, are leaving mud clods on the roads, rendering cement surfaces dangerously slippery.
This issue is widespread across various parts of the city, including Ashok Chowk, Jaganade Chowk, Bhende Layout, Pratapnagar Ring Road, and Orange Street. The accumulation of soil has transformed these areas into accident-prone zones, drastically heightening the risk of mishaps for two-wheeler riders.
Despite the evident danger, the administration has yet to take any action to rectify the situation. This lack of response has left two-wheeler riders vulnerable to the hazardous conditions prevailing on these roads.
The consequences have been severe. Recently, two individuals lost their lives after their vehicles skidded on these slippery roads. As of now, the city’s administration has not implemented any measures to alleviate these risks, leaving residents to navigate these perilous roads with utmost caution.
