In a bid to alleviate traffic congestion in the Dhantoli area, the city traffic police have implemented significant changes, including the declaration of no-parking zones and the introduction of one-way traffic on several key roads.
Effective immediately, the city traffic police have designated a no-parking zone for all types of vehicles on both sides of the road extending from Dumbhare Jewelers to Gorakshan Compound. Additionally, no parking is permitted on both sides of the road stretching from Silver Palace Building to Varambh Hospital, as well as from Bharuka Bhavan to the corner of Dr. Pendse Hospital. Similar restrictions apply for a stretch of up to 50 meters on both sides of the road from Neuron Hospital to Bhagwatdarshan Building, and from Bhiwapurkar Chamber to Dhantoli Garden T-Point. Further no-parking zones include both sides of the road from Mishra House to Tilak Vidyalaya, and from Srikrishna Hridayalaya to Congressnagar T-point. Specific provisions are also made for P1 and P2 parking from Gokhale House to Anand Niwas, and single-lane two-wheeler parking on the south side of Amarjyoti Apartment, H.P.
Continuing these measures, no parking is allowed for all vehicle types on both sides of the road from the petrol pump to Congressnagar T-point, and from Jakartar Bhawan to the District Library Officer’s office. Single-lane parking for four-wheelers is permitted up to Mehadia Chowk.
Moreover, designated single-lane parking for two-wheelers is established from Mehadia Chowk to Rajkamal Apartment, and for four-wheelers in three specific areas adjacent to Dhantoli Garden. P1 and P2 parking zones are also demarcated for all types of vehicles from Mehadia Chowk to Home Guard T-point on both sides of the road. Additionally, no parking is allowed for all vehicle types on the side road from Aruna Palace to Vitthal Apartment.
Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) will install signboards reflecting these changes before Friday, July 18. The new regulations are scheduled to be enforced from July 20.
One-Way Traffic Implementation:
Several roads in Dhantoli will now operate as one-way to streamline traffic flow:
- The road leading from Siho Hospital to Sarafa Court building is closed to all traffic. The opposite direction, from Sarafa Court to Siho Hospital building, remains open exclusively for one-way traffic.
- Single-lane four-wheeler parking will be available adjacent to Dhantoli Garden.
- All traffic on the road from Silver Palace to Varambe Hospital is diverted. However, the road from Varambe Hospital to Silver Palace remains open for all types of traffic, with strict no-parking regulations on both sides.
- The road from Amarjyoti Complex to Dumbhare Jewelers is closed to all types of traffic. Conversely, the road from Rajkamal Dumbhare Jewelers to Amarjyoti Complex remains open, with no parking allowed on either side of the route.
These measures aim to enhance traffic management and reduce congestion in Dhantoli, ensuring smoother mobility for residents and commuters alike.
