Nag-Vidarbha Chamber of Commerce (NVCC) has requested that Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitaraman and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari extend the filing date for income tax returns to August 31.
In a letter, NVCC President Arjundas Ahuja said that NVCC has been raising awareness about the timely payment of taxes. However, this year several problems are being faced on the portal, slow functioning of the website. Drawing data is delayed and filing returns is also affected. The taxpayers are facing problems in getting information related to 26AS/TIS and also in importing AIS/TIS data.
The other office bearers including Sandip Jitwani, and Sachin Puniyani said that filing Income Tax Returns by July 31 is very difficult and tax payers may have to pay fines for the delay. The last date for filing the ITR, therefore, should be extended to August 31.
