A recent incident involving a young female student assaulting a man in a hotel room has brought the dangers of MD into sharp focus. The student’s addiction to MD, just four months after she began her studies in Nagpur, led to this troubling event. Her family is now devastated by learning the situation.
On July 19, at a hotel on Ghat Road, Aniket Dhedge (27) from Ram Bagh was attacked and injured by a 19-year-old student wielding a knife. Aniket had met the student through a friend on social media a few days earlier, and they decided to meet on July 18. They spent time together in a car, consumed MD, and then went to the hotel where they became intimate. Around 5 a.m., the student asked for energy drinks and cigarettes, so Aniket took her to Medical Square. After returning to the hotel, the student consumed MD again and later attacked Aniket with a knife during their encounter.
The student comes from an educated family; her father is a retired government employee. Her parents’ strained relationship has had a significant impact on her. She got involved with MD, fell in with the wrong company neglecting her medical entrance exam coaching. Despite her family’s warnings, she continued down this path, making new friends who introduced her to MD and led her into a dangerous situation.
Aniket has a history of similar offenses and was suspected of assaulting women before. The student’s family is now in turmoil following her shocking revelation. After being released with a notice for the assault case, she has been handed over to her father. Aniket was taken into judicial custody on Monday.
