The Maharashtra Pollution Control Board (MPCB) has created an app called “Eco Bappa” for sculptors who create eco-friendly Ganesha idols. Ganesha idols are made from clay, paper pulp, turmeric, coconut, raw banana, betel nut.
MPCB took a presentation of such sculptors in the state. After that “Eco Bappa” app has been created. About 250 to 300 sculptors of the state who make Ganesha idols mainly from Shadu clay and other materials are registered in this app. This app will contain the sculptor’s mobile number, e-mail address, photograph of the Ganesh idol created by them. Aspirants have to go to the app and register their demand.
If a customer searches for a
sculptors by phone or e-mail on the Eco app, they will get information about which sculptors are available in their area. Pollution Control Board is the only regulatory body. Implementation has to be done by the local bodies. Member Secretary of Pollution Control Board Avinash Dhakne informed that the app will be launched next week.
